Nathan Scheelhaase
Jr. Quarterback
Rockhurst HS/Kansas City, Mo.
Nathan Scheelhaase is the only underclassman to ever win the Simone Award. As a junior at Rockhurst, he led the Hawklets to a perfect 13-0 record and the Missouri Class 6 Championship.
He passed for 1,764 yards and 18 TDs and rushed for 799 yards and 12 scores.
He followed that up with a senior year of 1,726 yards and 17 TDs while rushing for 864 yards and 18 TDs, but narrowly lost out on a repeat Simone Award by one of the closest votes in Simone Awards history.
Scheelhaase signed on to play quarterback at the University of Illinois.
